Work for the week of March 21, 2011
On Tuesday, the teacher will distribute the research project and discuss it with the class. Next, using the overhead projector she will show the students how to access databases such as SIRS. The class will suggest areas of interest, and as a group, they will use SIRS to locate articles related those topics.
On Wednesday, the class will visit the library and each student will select a book of interest.
On Thursday and Friday, the students will access SIRS and narrow down a topic. Once the student has an approved topic, s/he is to read the articles and create note cards. All articles need to be approved by the teacher, and students should use Noodle Tools to keep track of their notes.
