It's finally winter break. Spend some time with friends and family members, and enjoy the snow.
Over the break you need to read chapter two of The Great Gatsby. Pay particular attention to Tom Buchanan's character and to the differences between the social classes. What was Fitzgerald saying about the Tom Buchanans of this world? Also look at the bleak atmosphere that surrounds the Valley of the Ashes. How did Fitzgerald create this scene?
