October 13 and beyond

It's time to begin Arthur Miller's much anticipated play The Crucible. This week we will perform Act I in class. This section of the play sets the scene and introduces us to many of the main characters as well as to a moral dilemma that many of the girls face. Should they admit that they were in the woods of their own free will and take their punishments, or should they charge others with witchcraft in order to avoid trouble?

There will be a quiz on Act I as well as on the background notes and vocabulary this Friday, October 16.

This week's video clips are about the author, Arthur Miller. Enjoy.
